About Us
Preserving the Legacy So That We May Never Forget
The USS Emmons Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization established to facilitate contact and relationships among former crew members, family members and friends of former crew members of the USS Emmons DD-457/DMS-22, a WWII destroyer. The organization works to preserve the memory of USS Emmons and honor the memory of the 60 shipmates who perished in her sinking on April 6, 1945 at Okinawa, Japan.

Our Story
We hope you enjoy exploring our website as you learn of our efforts to maintain contact among the "Emmons Family" through this website, newsletters, annual reunions, and our scholarship program, which will serve to help keep the Emmons legacy alive for generations to come.
Our "Emmons Family" membership consists of crew members, their families and friends. We know there are more of you out there that we haven't heard from, as we routinely receive contact from former crew members' children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. If you're one who has any connection whatsoever with the USS Emmons, or simply wants to be a part of our special bond and wants to learn more, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact us and we'll add you to our mailing list.
