USS EMMONS RECORDS
View the Deck Log of the USS Emmons. Navy ships keep running records of their activities on board, and many of these logs are sent to the Naval History and Heritage Command to be archived as permanent records. Eventually, the deck logs are transferred to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
View the USS Emmons Muster Rolls. U.S. Navy muster rolls are quarterly lists of enlisted naval personnel who were formally attached to a naval vessel or station. When a military unit is created, it is "mustered in" and when it is disbanded, it is "mustered out". If a unit "musters" it is generally to take account of who is present and who is not. A muster roll is the list of members of a military unit, often including their rank and the dates they joined or left.
